Mitchell Powersystems , the sole UK & Ireland Distributor for  Allison Transmission , is delighted to have secured an order to supply seventy 2500 Specialty Series™ (SP) Allison fully automatic Transmissions from  Supacat  for the UK MOD’s Jackal High Mobility Truck Variants (HMT 400s), in use with specialist military forces worldwide.

Our Allison Franchise Manager   Darron Griffiths  worked closely with the SC Group from the first installation of Allison’s 2000 Series™ transmission over 23 years ago, and our Application Engineering Team, together with Supacat’s Engineering Team, also helped develop the proof-of-concept driveline that featured the Cummins six-cylinder engine close-coupled to the Allison 2000 Series transmission, a bespoke final drive system and Supacat’s fully independent suspension system. This unique driveline combination has proved its capabilities across the globe in many operational theatres, and we are delighted to have played a small part in such an important program.

The success of the Supacat order closely follows another successful order secured by   Mitchell Powersystems  from another large defence manufacturer for the first seventeen Allison 4800SP Series™ Transmissions for the UK MOD’s Boxer armoured vehicle, which is set to become the new Mechanised all-terrain Armoured Infantry Vehicle.

Mitchell Powersystems  and our holding company  Turner & Co. (Glasgow) Limited have a long well-established relationship with the UK Ministry of Defence that spans over 40 year’s, supporting both infrastructure on the UK MOD estate, and in overseas deployed operations, including supplying new product and services into specific Defence applications.
