Protect your boat this winter

The importance of winterisation

Understand the importance of carrying out winterisation checks - it is very easy to forget you own a boat when it is cold and windy outside, but this is when they need the care and attention to make sure they are there for you when the sun is shining!

If you are planning on keeping the boat in the water over the winter, ready for any possible use, we can install heaters to keep the engine bay above freezing, as well as inhibiting fuel systems to keep diesel bug away during the long winter months. Or if you are storing ashore, a complete winterisation process of draining and suppressing cooling systems to not just stop freezing, but will also prevent corrosion and premature failure of major items. Cleaning fuel tanks and inhibiting the entire fuel system and not forgetting changing oils and filters, will keep everything fresh for the new season ahead.

We do not only want to protect your engine, but your boat as well, by draining freshwater systems, pumps, toilets, keeping batteries charged and most importantly sea cocks! These are often overlooked, but the most vital part of any boat, when lifted from the water, these can easily freeze and split, often undetected until the boat is re-launched and you get a rather sickly sinking feeling!

With a team of highly professional, Manufacturer Trained Workshop and Field Service Engineers, using Genuine Parts, Mitchells can offer you an efficient and cost effective solution, wherever you are berthed, to protect your boat over the winter months. We can take the worry and stress away from you with a choice of winterisation services to suit your individual needs.
